1100 Broadway

A New Oakland Landmark With a Historic Twist

Slated to bring 20 stories of premium office and retail space to downtown Oakland, 1100 Broadway not only takes advantage of its prime location within this rapidly changing business district (and directly above the 12th Street BART station) but also incorporates the renovation of the historic Key System building on the site's corner.

The Key System building, which housed the headquarters of a private rail and bus service of the same name that operated from 1903 to 1960, was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and has remained vacant ever since. Its 37,000 square feet sit adjacent to a vacant 17,000–square foot lot; together these parcels will become a new, 320,000–square foot landmark for the city of Oakland.

1100 Broadway incorporates sustainable practices in its design and construction and includes a plan for sustainable maintenance and cleaning. It is pre-certified LEED Platinum.
